Key Takeaways
If you run a small business and post the same idea to several platforms, Publer let us plan a full month (99 posts on 5 platforms) from one place, but moving or re-wiring posts after they are scheduled took more work than we expected.
- One upload of a video or image went to Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok and YouTube, each with its own settings (Facebook Reel, YouTube Short, TikTok privacy).
- A first comment (where we put links) can be set when a post is created. Through the API we could not add one, or change the time, on a post that was already scheduled; we recreated those posts instead.
- Two limits to plan for: Publer needs at least a one-minute gap between posts on the same account, and fast bursts of changes hit a rate limit.
In Detail
What we tested, and how. Between 18 and 20 October 2026 we scheduled the first month of Time Multiplied’s social content in Publer: 99 posts across 5 accounts (Facebook page, Instagram, LinkedIn page, TikTok and YouTube), plus 4 posts on Benedict Lim’s personal LinkedIn in a second workspace. About half were short videos and half were image cheat sheets. We worked in the web app and, for bulk changes, through Publer’s API, which Publer’s own documentation says is available on its Business and Enterprise plans.
What worked well.
- One idea, five platforms. We uploaded each video once and reused it across all five accounts, with platform-specific settings: Reel on Facebook, Short on YouTube, privacy and comment settings on TikTok, and a title where TikTok and YouTube need one.
- First comment at creation. Facebook and LinkedIn tend to show posts with outside links to fewer people, so we put the link in the first comment and a clear line in the caption (“Free full guide: link in the first comment”). Publer accepts that first comment when the post is created.
- Caption edits after scheduling. Changing the text of a scheduled post worked, which let us add tracked article links to 24 posts after the calendar was built.
- A clear record of what failed. When a post could not be created, Publer said why, for example “There’s another post at this time. A one minute gap is required between posts”.
What did not work the way we expected.
| What we tried (October 2026) | What happened | What we did |
|---|---|---|
| Change the time of a scheduled post through the API | The caption saved; the new time was silently ignored | Recreated the post at the new time, then deleted the original only after the copy checked out |
| Add a first comment to an already scheduled post through the API | Ignored, with no error | Same: recreate with the comment |
| Schedule two posts on one account at the same minute | Refused | Keep at least one minute between posts per account |
| Move about 80 posts in one go | ”Rate limit exceeded. Retry later.” part way through | Pause and retry automatically, a few seconds between posts |
| List every scheduled post in one call across all accounts | A few rows were missing (96 of 99) | List one account at a time and check the total |
| Delete a post with the obvious API address | ”Not Found”, and the original stayed | Use the documented bulk delete; check that the post is really gone |
What we did not test. Publer’s analytics, team approval flows, its AI writing assistant, Threads, Pinterest and Google Business Profile, and any plan other than our own. We do not quote prices because they change; check Publer’s plans page.
Who it suits. A business owner or small team that posts the same message to three or more platforms, plans a week or a month ahead, and is happy to fix the plan in the web app when something moves. If you only post to Facebook and Instagram, also look at Meta Business Suite, Meta’s own scheduler; we have not tested it for this review. If you want to change a large scheduled calendar automatically, budget time for the limits in the table above.
Putting This Into Practice
- Decide your link rule before you schedule. If links go in first comments, add them when you create each post; adding them later meant recreating posts for us.
- Space posts by at least a minute per account, and give each platform its own time slot.
- Lock your launch date early. We brought our launch forward by six days, which meant recreating every post (about 80) rather than editing a date.
- Check the time zone in your workspace settings, and confirm a few posts on the calendar view, not only in a list.
- After any bulk change, count what is scheduled per account and compare it with your plan before you walk away.
Key Questions Answered
Can Publer post one video to Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok and YouTube?
Yes. We uploaded each video once and scheduled it to all five, with per-platform settings such as Facebook Reel, YouTube Short and TikTok privacy.
Can I put the link in the first comment with Publer?
Yes, when you create the post. In our tests through the API, adding a first comment to a post that was already scheduled was ignored, so set it at creation.
Can I change the date of a scheduled post?
In the web app, yes. Through the API, the time change was ignored in our test on 20 October 2026, so we recreated the posts at the new times.
Is there a limit to how close posts can be?
Yes. Publer refused two posts on the same account in the same minute and asked for a one-minute gap.
Is this review sponsored?
No. We pay for our own plan, Publer did not see this review before it was published, and there are no affiliate links.
